Amman: The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, in coordination with the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF)-Arab Army, has commenced the process of accepting applications to defer compulsory military service for the first batch of conscripts through an electronic platform.
According to Jordan News Agency, eligible applicants include students enrolled in annual study programs such as medicine and pharmacy, regular school students, and individuals residing abroad who can verify their status. These deferred conscripts are mandated to commence their military service immediately after the reason for their postponement ceases, in compliance with the National Service and Reserve Law No. 23 of 1986 and its subsequent amendments.
Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria can submit their deferment requests via the platform at https://khidmetalam.gov.jo/service/sanadlogin by selecting the newly activated deferment option. The entire process is conducted electronically, eliminating the need for applicants to visit any government office, thus ensuring a swift and convenient application experience.
Last Monday, the Ministry executed an electronic lottery for youths born in 2007, selecting 6,000 conscripts for service in the upcoming year. These conscripts will be divided into three batches, each comprising 2,000 individuals.
