Aqaba: The Aqaba Chamber of Commerce on Sunday handed over 30 tons of humanitarian aid comprising food and medical supplies to the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) for delivery to the Gaza Strip.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Chamber Deputy Chairman Ahmad Kisawani stated that the chamber had opened its premises and courtyards to facilitate the collection of donations from various sectors. He emphasized that a substantial amount of food items, clothing, blankets, and other essential supplies were gathered, organized, and loaded under the supervision of a joint committee. This committee included the assistant governor of Aqaba, the director of the Islamic Awqaf, and representatives from the Audit Bureau, the Ministry of Social Development, and Aqaba's Community Development Directorate.
Kisawani further mentioned that more than 27 trucks have already been dispatched from Aqaba to Gaza since the commencement of the relief campaign. The effort has seen significant backing from both the public and private sectors in Aqaba, which have contributed medical and food assistance along with other necessities crucial for daily living.
Since the onset of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, the Aqaba Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the JHCO and the supervisory committee, has executed 19 relief campaigns. These initiatives aim to deliver the maximum possible volume of food, medicine, and in-kind aid to the people of Gaza.
