Aqaba Container Terminal Achieves Record TEU Handling for Third Straight Month

Aqaba:The Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT) achieved a significant milestone in September by handling 107,803 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), marking a monthly record for the third consecutive month while servicing 53 vessels.

According to Jordan News Agency, this achievement follows record levels of container handling in July and August, with September being the third month in a row to surpass the 100,000 TEU mark.

Transit cargo continues to play a substantial role, with the terminal managing 14,712 TEUs in transit during September. Additionally, truck traffic at the terminal's gates recorded 45,901 movements.

ACT Chief Executive Officer Jos© Rueda highlighted that the record container volumes underscore Aqaba's pivotal role in regional trade and demonstrate the terminal's ability to handle increasing cargo flows. Rueda emphasized the company's focus on maintaining operational efficiency, connectivity, reliability, and service standards to meet customer and partner needs. He also noted that the terminal's recent performance sets the stage for further development and enhances the growth and competitiveness of Jordan's logistics sector.
