Aqaba, Nidal Majali, a commissioner for tourism and environment at the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority Friday said Aqaba had received two million visitors in 2022 with a million hotel reservations.

Majali said in a statement that there is cooperation with the Aqaba Chamber of Trade and the private sector to encourage tourism in Aqaba through the “Addafa Janoubi” carnival, which was launched on Thursday.

He noted that the carnival is part of an integrated system that would last for 18 months to enhance tourism so that the visit to Aqaba is not only for shopping but also for entertainment and adventure.
