The Arab League on Saturday condemned a drone attack by the Houthi group on Al Dabba oil terminal in Yemen’s southeastern Hadramout province.

Jamal Rushdi, official spokesman of Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, said the Houthi escalation constitutes a disregard and an affront to tireless international and regional efforts aimed at extending the ceasefire in Yemen, and “reveals once again the true face of the Houthi movement.”

He stressed that targeting oil terminals under any pretext would further lead to the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Yemen and cause pollution to the marine environment over large areas.

The spokesman appealed to concerned international parties to meet their humanitarian obligations and close the humanitarian funding gap in Yemen, and continue removing landmines and all other explosives that kill civilians daily.
