Amman: Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti inspected several Jordan Armed Forces units responsible for border security and protection. This review was part of an ongoing assessment of operational readiness and duty execution in response to recent developments and weather conditions.
According to Jordan News Agency, Maj. Gen. Huneiti initiated his tour at the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, where he was briefed by the Commander of the Royal Jordanian Air Force. The briefing covered the Royal Jordanian Air Force's role in supporting ground forces through aerial surveillance and reconnaissance. The discussions emphasized the significance of coordination among military branches to enhance border protection and improve response times to challenges.
The tour also included a visit to the Royal Launcher Battalion 29. Here, Maj. Gen. Huneiti assessed the readiness and combat preparedness of the Royal Artillery Corps, highlighting the importance of professional planning and execution in fulfilling the Jordan Armed Forces' mission.
On the northern border, in the presence of the Commander of the Eastern Military Zone, Maj. Gen. Huneiti examined the 4th Royal Border Guard Battalion's measures against arms and narcotics smuggling. The battalion uses advanced defensive technology to boost monitoring and early-warning capabilities, ensuring swift responses to potential threats.
The tour concluded with Maj. Gen. Huneiti, accompanied by senior JAF officers, conveying greetings and recognition from His Majesty the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. He praised the personnel's professionalism and efficiency, reaffirming the General Command's commitment to enhancing defensive capabilities for the Kingdom's security and citizen safety.
