Amman: Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Huneiti, visited the King Abdullah II Air Base, where he was welcomed by the Royal Jordanian Air Force commander and the base's commander.
According to Jordan News Agency, the purpose of the inspection visit, which included foreign ambassadors and military attaches, was to evaluate technical and logistical arrangements at the base for the second phase of a humanitarian air bridge to the Gaza Strip. This initiative involves a squadron of helicopters loaded with relief and medical aid supplies.
Huneiti was briefed by the base's commander on the current progress of technical and logistical operations and future plans to enhance their efficiency. The briefing also highlighted the participation of Arab and international countries in the air bridge, which aims to deliver essential humanitarian aid to Gaza.
During his visit, the army chief reviewed the various squadrons at the base, receiving detailed information on the weapons and equipment used. He expressed appreciation for the level of preparedness and the morale of the personnel.
