Amman: Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Huneiti Sunday welcomed at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army (JAF), an Omani military team led by Rear Admiral Ali Al Shidi, Commandant of the National Defence College. During a meeting, attended by the Omani Ambassador, they went over prospects of enhancing cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries, especially training and exchanging military expertise, as well as regional developments.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Omani delegation commended JAF's humanitarian role and modernization and development efforts to address regional challenges. The discussions highlighted the importance of joint military exercises and the sharing of strategic insights to bolster regional security. Both parties expressed a commitment to strengthening their partnership in defense and security sectors, recognizing the mutual benefits of sharing knowledge and resources.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange views on the current geopolitical climate in the region, emphasizing the necessity of collaboration in tackling common threats. The Omani delegation acknowledged the pivotal role of JAF in maintaining stability and promoting peace within the region.
