Amman: Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmad Al-Hnaity, on Wednesday met with Pakistan's Chief of Defense Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, at the General Headquarters of the Pakistan Army in the capital, Islamabad.
According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting focused on enhancing bilateral relations in military and defense matters, with both sides expressing a commitment to developing cooperation through the exchange of expertise, joint training, and capacity building. This collaboration aims to serve mutual interests and strengthen ties between the armed forces of Jordan and Pakistan.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of advancing the strategic partnership between the two countries and expanding channels of military communication and consultation. These efforts are seen as essential to contribute to regional security and stability amid prevailing challenges in the region.
Major General Al-Hnaity reaffirmed the strong relations between the Jordanian and Pakistani armed forces, acknowledging the existing level of cooperation. He reiterated the commitment of the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces to further strengthen these ties in line with shared visions and aspirations.
Field Marshal Asim Munir expressed Pakistan's eagerness to broaden military cooperation with Jordan, particularly in the areas of defense capability development and enhanced joint coordination.
During his visit, Major General Al-Hnaity, along with senior Jordanian military officers, toured the Global Industrial and Defence Solutions (GIDS) company in Islamabad. GIDS is known for its research and development and the manufacturing of military and defense equipment using advanced technologies.
Additionally, Major General Al-Hnaity visited Pakistan's National Aerospace Science and Technology Park (NASTP), where he received a briefing on the center's projects aimed at fostering design, research, development, and innovation in aviation, aerospace, information technology, and cybersecurity.
