Amman: Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti on Wednesday sponsored the graduation of the Counterterrorism Course/1 at the Special Forces and Counterterrorism Training Pavilion of the Prince Hashim bin Al-Hussein School for Special Operations Training.
According to Jordan News Agency, Huneiti was joined by several senior Armed Forces officers as he received a briefing from the wing commander on the course and the skills acquired by participants over the 24-week training period. The comprehensive training program included advanced physical fitness, live-fire exercises, assault operations, first aid, communications, and specialized techniques such as mountain and helicopter insertion. The inclusion of female personnel was also highlighted, with the aim of enhancing operational readiness and effectiveness in counterterrorism missions and threat response.
The army chief observed an exercise that showcased a high level of expertise in handling explosives and conducting urban combat using the latest equipment and technologies. Huneiti commended the efforts of the course personnel and the high standard exhibited by the graduates. He emphasized the critical role such courses play in developing the skills of Special Operations personnel and enhancing their efficiency in line with global counterterrorism practices.
Huneiti reaffirmed that the Jordan Armed Forces will continue to serve as the nation's unwavering shield, with ongoing development and modernization to ensure improved combat capabilities and optimal readiness.
