Amman: Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti received UN Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix at the General Command Headquarters on Monday. During the meeting, which was attended by senior Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army (JAF) officers, they discussed efforts to stabilize the region, latest developments, and cooperation and coordination in areas of mutual interest. Huneiti said JAF's participation in international peacekeeping operations underlines the Kingdom's commitment to international peace and security and protecting civilians in conflict zones.

According to Jordan News Agency, Lacroix thanked Jordan for supporting peacekeeping efforts, hailing the professionalism and competence of the Jordan Armed Forces as an active and reliable partner in United Nations missions.
