Army Disrupts Drug Smuggling Operation, Seizes Drone and Equipment

Amman: The Southern Military Zone early Monday successfully intercepted a drug smuggling operation involving a small drone and control equipment along its western border. According to Jordan News Agency, an official military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces - Arab Army stated that the Border Guard forces, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, thwarted an attempt to smuggle a small drone and its associated control devices attempting to cross the border. The source explained that the drone was monitored and tracked, and upon detection, engagement rules were applied. The drone was subsequently brought down inside Jordanian territory, and the seized items were handed over to the relevant authorities for further action. The source affirmed that the Jordanian Armed Forces remain committed to utilizing all available resources to prevent all forms of infiltration and smuggling activities, ensuring the security and stability of the Kingdom.
