Amman: The Eastern Military Zone successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle drugs at dawn on Monday. The operation involved a considerable amount of narcotics being transported via balloons, which were controlled by advanced electronic devices.
According to Jordan News Agency, Border Guard units identified the smuggling effort and managed to intercept the balloons. The units, in collaboration with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, brought down the balloons and seized the narcotics within Jordanian territory.
The confiscated drugs have been handed over to the relevant authorities to initiate the necessary legal procedures.
