Amman: The Eastern Military Zone successfully thwarted two attempts to smuggle a significant quantity of narcotics into the Kingdom early Friday using electronically guided balloons, as reported by a military source at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Border Guard units detected the balloons within the military zone's area of responsibility. They were able to intercept and bring them down, along with their drug payloads, inside Jordanian territory. The operation was executed in coordination with the country's security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department. The seized drugs were subsequently transferred to the relevant authorities to complete the necessary legal procedures.
