Amman: Eastern Military Zone officers foiled an infiltration and drug smuggling attempt from Syrian territory into Jordan on Wednesday evening, within its area of responsibility.
According to Jordan News Agency, a military source from the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army stated that border guards in the Eastern Military Zone, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, intercepted an attempt to smuggle quantities of narcotics. The seized substances were referred to the relevant authorities.
The source confirmed that the Jordan Armed Forces will continue to deploy all available resources and capabilities to prevent all forms of infiltration and smuggling to safeguard the security and stability of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
