Army Thwarts Narcotics Smuggling Attempt

Amman: The Northern Military Zone on Wednesday foiled an attempt to smuggle a quantity of narcotics using a drone along the northern border and within its area of responsibility. The region's personnel detected and monitored the drone before applying the rules of engagement, resulting in its downing along with its cargo inside Jordanian territory. The seized materials were transferred to the competent authorities.

According to Jordan News Agency, the operation highlights the ongoing efforts of the Northern Military Zone to secure the borders and prevent illegal activities. The incident underscores the increasing use of technology by smugglers and the subsequent need for vigilant monitoring and response by military forces. The competent authorities are now handling the investigation and processing of the seized narcotics.
