ASE Sees Decline as Turnover Drops to JD12.7 Million


Amman: Total trading volume on the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) decreased to JD12.7 million on Thursday, as 3.2 million shares were exchanged through 2,980 transactions. The benchmark index concluded the day 0.16 percent lower, standing at 3,637 points.



According to Jordan News Agency, of the 97 companies that were traded, 32 reported gains, while 30 experienced losses when compared to their previous closing prices. This downturn was reflected across all sector indices, which ended the day in negative territory.



The services index saw a decline of 0.46 percent, leading the losses among sector indices. The industrial index dropped by 0.14 percent, while the financial index experienced a slight decrease of 0.03 percent. The broad-based declines reflect a day of cautious trading on the ASE.
