ASE Trading Volume Reaches JD46.9 Million Amid Sector Gains

Amman: The Amman Stock Exchange's (ASE) total trading volume reached approximately JD46.9 million ($66.1 million) last week, experiencing an increase from JD57.6 million in the previous week. A total of 20.8 million shares were exchanged through 18,661 transactions.

According to Jordan News Agency, the services sector led in trading volume, accumulating JD19.58 million and representing 41.77% of the total trading. The financial sector closely followed with JD19.48 million, making up 41.56%, while the industrial sector accounted for JD7.81 million or 16.66%.

The ASE general index of stock prices showed a slight rise, closing the week at 3,997.2 points, up from 3,992 points the previous week, marking an increase of 0.13%.

Shares of 131 companies were actively traded throughout the week. Out of these, stock prices for 59 companies saw an increase, while 51 companies experienced a decline.

Among the companies with notable share-price gains, Assas for Concrete Products led the way with a rise of 25.97%. It was followed by Middle East Insurance Co., which saw a 21.08% increase, Noor Capital Markets for Diversified Investments at 13.01%, Arab Potash Co. at 10.2%, and Arab European Insurance Group at 9.45%.
