ASE Turnover at JD5.1M, Up 0.45%

Amman: Total trading volume on the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) reached JD 5.1 million on Wednesday, with 1.7 million shares traded through 1,889 transactions. The ASE general share price index closed at 3,653 points, reflecting an increase of 0.45 percent from the previous session.

According to Jordan News Agency, sector performance on the exchange was mixed. The financial index saw an increase of 0.72 percent, indicating a positive trend in that sector. The industrial index also experienced a gain, rising by 0.24 percent. However, the services index saw a slight decline, edging down by 0.06 percent.

Among the 90 companies listed on the ASE, 36 companies recorded gains, while 22 companies experienced losses compared to their previous closings. This mixed performance across sectors and companies contributed to the overall modest rise in the ASE's general index.
