ASEZA Chief and Dutch Ambassador Discuss Joint Development Projects

Aqaba: Chairman of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), Nayef Fayez, held talks with Dutch Ambassador to Jordan, Harry Verweij, focusing on enhancing joint cooperation and reviewing ASEZA's significant development projects and achievements.

According to Jordan News Agency, Fayez emphasized the strong bilateral relations between Jordan and the Netherlands, highlighting ASEZA's commitment to forging international partnerships that support sustainable development. He pointed out that Aqaba serves as a model for economic integration and offers promising investment opportunities.

Fayez detailed ASEZA's key projects and achievements in tourism, economy, and investment sectors, noting the developments in the hotel sector and the increasing number of visitors. He mentioned that the port city's hotel capacity bolsters Aqaba's role as a major commercial gateway on the Red Sea and an integrated regional logistics center.

During the discussion, Fayez outlined ASEZA's strategic priorities, focusing on significant projects such as the National Water Carrier Project, Jordan National Railway, and the Marsa Zayed projects. He described these initiatives as strategic enterprises that enhance Jordan's water security and transportation infrastructure, thereby opening new opportunities for regional and international cooperation and reinforcing Aqaba's status as an integrated logistics hub.

The Dutch envoy expressed appreciation for Aqaba's efforts and indicated his country's interest in expanding cooperation with ASEZA, particularly in supporting major projects within its strategic master plans. He also commended the progress and vision aimed at achieving sustainable development in Aqaba.
