ASEZA Issues 48-Hour Deadline to Remove Stray Camels from Public Roads

Aqaba: The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) on Sunday issued a 48-hour ultimatum to owners of stray camels to clear them from public roads and residential areas. The directive is aimed at ensuring public safety and maintaining order within the region.

According to Jordan News Agency, the authority has warned of immediate actions to expel the animals from the economic zone's borders if the owners do not comply with the directive. Sabri Al-Rafou, Director of Control and Enforcement at ASEZA, emphasized that the decision was driven by the hazards posed by unattended camels, which include causing traffic accidents, damaging crops and property, and creating environmental issues.

Al-Rafou further stated that if the deadline is not met, specialized teams will proceed with administrative and legal measures to remove the camels from the Aqaba Special Economic Zone permanently.
