Gaza: Beginning early Saturday, Israeli airstrikes and gunfire killed at least 72 Palestinians and injured around 100 more in the Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian sources.
According to Anadolu Agency, on the second day of the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha, at least 15 Palestinians, including six children, were killed and over 50 others injured when Israeli warplanes struck a residential home in the Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City. Rescue teams expressed concerns that the death toll could rise as many individuals remain missing, potentially trapped under the debris.
Twelve individuals, including four members of a single family, lost their lives, and over 40 were wounded in Israeli shelling targeting tents sheltering displaced Palestinians west of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip. A separate airstrike claimed the lives of seven more Palestinians in a house west of Gaza City.
In the northern Gaza neighborhood of Al-Saftawi, two Palestinians were killed by Israeli artillery targeting civilians. In another incident, three individuals were killed during an airstrike on a civilian gathering in the Abu Shrekh area, west of the Jabalia refugee camp. Additionally, three Palestinians, including a child, were killed near the Al-Mujayda fuel station in a separate strike.
A report from Nasser Hospital indicated that six people were killed by an Israeli drone strike in the town of Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis. Another drone strike in the al-Amal neighborhood of Khan Younis resulted in one death and one injury.
Medical sources reported that an Israeli strike killed eight Palestinians in the Jabalia al-Nazla area. Another strike in the al-Faluja area of Jabalia claimed two more lives. An Israeli drone strike in the al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City, killed five Palestinians and injured several others.
In central Gaza, two Palestinians were killed when an Israeli attack struck a tent near al-Durra stadium in Dier al-Balah. Separately, six Palestinians were shot dead by Israeli forces near an aid distribution center west of Rafah, with several others injured.
The total number of Palestinians killed by Israeli gunfire while attempting to access humanitarian aid since May 27 has risen to 115, with more than 580 wounded and nine still missing, according to a tally by Anadolu based on Palestinian sources. On Friday, the first day of Eid al-Adha, 33 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes and shelling across several areas of the Gaza Strip.
This marks the fourth Eid for Gazans since October 2023, when Israel launched a war resulting in nearly 54,800 Palestinian deaths, widespread famine conditions, and the near-uninhabitability of the enclave.
