Amman: Audit Bureau (AB) President Radhi Hamadeen engaged in discussions with the Netherlands Ambassador to Jordan, Stella Kluth, focusing on enhancing cooperative relations between the Jordanian bureau and the Netherlands Court of Audit (NCA).
According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting highlighted various programs funded by the Dutch government, notably the SHARAKA programme, which receives technical support from NCA. This program is designed to boost the auditing capabilities of Audit Bureau's auditors by leveraging sustainable development indicators and goals.
The discussions also covered the Netherlands SHIRAKA public finance programme. This initiative aims to enhance the state's public financial management practices by training employees on best international practices in this domain.
At the meeting, Ambassador Kluth expressed the Dutch government's willingness, through the NCA, to offer comprehensive support to the Jordanian Audit Bureau, particularly in capacity building.
She also highlighted the lessons learned from these programs, which showcase the scope and quality of joint cooperation aimed at improving oversight mechanisms and drawing on European expertise.
In relation to the Audit Bureau's plan to implement the "peer review" mission, Kluth welcomed potential cooperation between the two countries' audit bodies to carry out this initiative, which the Jordanian AB plans to execute soon with other oversight entities.
Additionally, she discussed bilateral cooperation in areas such as training on performance monitoring, impact assessment methodologies, and enhancing the skills of Audit Bureau auditors by learning from the practices of the Dutch oversight body in these fields.
