Authorities Arrest 200 Suspects in Weeklong Drug Crackdown

Amman: Anti-narcotics teams seized more than 1,200 kilograms of crystal meth and arrested dozens of suspects during a weeklong sweep targeting illicit drug networks, a Public Security Directorate (PSD) spokesperson confirmed on Sunday.

According to Jordan News Agency, officers handled 125 cases nationwide, arresting 64 suspected dealers in 42 trafficking cases and 137 individuals in 83 possession cases. Authorities seized a total of 1,238 kilograms of crystal meth throughout the weeklong sweep.

Security forces pledged to press forward with the operation to dismantle drug networks and boost public awareness. Authorities urged Jordanians to report drug activity to 911, assuring tips will remain confidential.
