Amman: The Water Authority's Internal Control Unit uncovered and disconnected multiple illegal water line connections across several regions on Wednesday.
According to Jordan News Agency, inspectors in Amman's Umm al-Rasas area discovered a two-inch illegal pipe tapped into a main supply line. The connection was being used to divert water to nearby farms, homes, and storage reservoirs, as reported by the Ministry of Water and Irrigation.
In the Quweira district in Aqaba, authorities detected and disconnected 32 illegal water lines redirecting water to chalets, farms, and residences. Authorities restored the affected networks and documented the violations for legal proceedings.
The ministry warned that nationwide crackdowns will continue to protect water resources, prevent unlawful usage, and ensure equitable water distribution.
