Amman:Authorities The Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) and power distribution companies have issued a joint warning regarding phishing scams related to electricity bills.
According to Jordan News Agency, the EMRC and power distribution companies cautioned the public against suspicious text messages and links claiming to offer services for electricity bills, data updates, or electronic payments.
In their advisory, they urged individuals to refrain from clicking on unverified links and sharing personal or financial information with unofficial sources. The EMRC emphasized that inquiries and payments related to energy bills should be conducted only through official, approved channels to safeguard consumers from financial fraud.
