Availability Rate of National Electricity Transmission Grid at 99.92% Last Year: Report

Amman: Availability rate of the national transmission grid reached 99.92% last year, while the percentage of electric losses on transmission networks went down from 1.81% to 1.76%, National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) announced.

According to Jordan News Agency, the company's recently issued annual report highlighted several key metrics. The outage rate per 100 km/circuit dropped by 28.6%, while the grid's transit energy surged from 123 to 215 gigawatt-hours, marking a 74.8% increase.

The capacity of the main 132/33 kV substations also surged by 2.6%, while its rate for 400/132/33 kV substations remained "stable," the report revealed. The report indicated that the maximum load of the Kingdom's electrical system last year reached 4,100 megawatts (MVA), compared to 4,240 MVA in 2023, constituting a decrease of 3.3%.

Additionally, the generation capacity of the Kingdom's electrical system (conventional energy) reached 4,443 MVA and renewable energy stood at 1,617 MVA.
