Amman: Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites, Dr. Mohammad Khalayleh, announced on Thursday that all applicants to perform Hajj rituals born on or after March 31, 1953, will be able to undertake the pilgrimage in 2025.
According to Jordan News Agency, Dr. Khalayleh, during a press conference about the 2025 Hajj arrangements, revealed that 1,200 individuals will be selected by lottery from applicants born in 1975 or earlier who registered via the Hajj portal. Additionally, 20% of the pilgrims will be chosen from those who have saved in the Hajj Fund and were born on or before January 1, 2019.
The minister stated that Jordan's quota for Hajj this year is set at 8,000 pilgrims, with an additional 4,500 slots allocated for individuals from the 1948 Arab population in Palestinian territories. He encouraged those who have secured Hajj visas to visit the Kingdom's Endowments Directorates to obtain their Hajj permits, starting next Saturday until February 15, to finalize the necessary procedures.
Dr. Khalayleh underscored the ministry's commitment to providing optimal services to both Jordanian pilgrims and the 1948 Arabs, ensuring affordable prices and high-quality transportation by utilizing modern vehicles. He also issued a warning against unauthorized Hajj and Umrah service providers, noting that four cases have been referred for violations related to offering pilgrimage services outside the ministry's official framework.
Approximately 29,000 individuals registered through the Hajj portal, meeting the required conditions for registration, as noted by the minister during the press briefing.
