Madaba: Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Muhammad Khalaileh, inaugurated the Preaching and Guidance Forum, along with a charitable and free medical day organized by the Ministry in cooperation with the Zakat Fund and Al-Maqasid Charity Hospital. The event took place in the areas of Al-Mrijmat and Al-Hawiya, as well as Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Farshouti Mosque in Madaba.
According to Jordan News Agency, Khalaileh emphasized the significance of the event, stating that it aligns with King Abdullah's recent directives for officials to engage in field visits across all governorates. The minister underscored the Ministry's dedication to organizing events that offer urgent assistance, assess ongoing projects, and address public concerns regarding the Awqaf sector. These gatherings, he noted, serve as a vital connection with people nationwide.
During the event, Khalaileh announced several initiatives, including the distribution of 500 purchase vouchers worth JD30 each, financial aid of JD100 for 50 orphans and 50 students, and 300 food parcels donated by Hajj Muhammad Abu Soufa. He also highlighted that 120 families in Madaba governorate receive monthly stipends from the Zakat Fund, and 60 orphans benefit from sponsorships. Six rehabilitation projects are currently underway, with the fund prepared to undertake home renovations and new projects under specific criteria.
Madaba Awqaf Director, Issa Bawareed, emphasized the forum's alignment with the Ministry's mission of imparting guidance through wisdom and constructive discourse. The event gathered imams and preachers from across the Kingdom.
During his visit, the minister also opened the Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Farshouti Mosque and the free medical day organized by Al-Maqasid Charity Hospital, which provided essential healthcare services to local residents.
