Amman: Minister of Social Development Wafa Bani Mustafa emphasized Jordan's steadfast stance against the ongoing aggression in Gaza and the Israeli attacks in the West Bank. She highlighted the efforts led by His Majesty King Abdullah II and the Jordanian government to halt the violence and challenge the Israeli narrative surrounding the conflict. According to Jordan News Agency, Minister Bani Mustafa, while inaugurating the Conference on the Role of International Community in Promoting Palestinian Children's Rights, underscored the diplomatic initiatives that have influenced other countries' positions. These efforts aimed to counteract Israel's plans for forced displacement and settlement expansion, as well as its attempts to dismantle UNRWA. She pointed out that Jordan has courageously provided immediate humanitarian relief and has managed to break the siege on Gaza through both air and land routes. The minister emphasized Jordan's strong official and popular support for Palestine, which aims to bolster t he resilience of its people. Bani Mustafa further elaborated on the grim statistics resulting from the conflict, noting that 411 days into the aggression, the death toll in Gaza nears 45,000, with 70% being women and children. She echoed King Abdullah II's concerns over the rapid rate of casualties, famine, and destruction in Gaza, marking it as one of the deadliest conflicts in modern history. Moreover, the minister highlighted the ongoing trials of Palestinian children in Israeli military courts and the detention of thousands. Reports from UNICEF reveal the dire situation for Gaza's children and families, with about 1.9 million people internally displaced. Over half of these displaced individuals are children, many of whom lack access to basic necessities such as water, food, and medicine, particularly in areas like Rafah.
