The Border Ports Commission announced, on Sunday, new statistics on the number of foreign visitors arriving and departing from the country. The spokesman for the commission, Alaa Al-Din Al-Qaisi, said in a statement, "The number of foreign visitors arriving in the country amounted to 3 million, 413 thousand and 63 visitors since the first of Safar, August 6, until the 19th of Safar, August 24." He added that "the number of foreign visitors departing during the same period amounted to two million, 502 thousand and 395 visitors," noting that "this was done through the ports of Safwan, Shalamcheh, Al-Shaib, Zurbatiyah, Al-Mundhiriyah, Al-Qaim, Baghdad Airport, Najaf Airport, Haj Omran, and Bashmagh.
