Boxing Team Departs for Liverpool to Compete in World Championships

Liverpool: The national boxing team departed Monday for Liverpool, United Kingdom, to participate in the 2025 World Boxing Championships, scheduled from September 4 to 14.

According to Jordan News Agency, the team features a lineup that includes Huthaifa Eshaish (50 kg), Youssef Eshaish (55 kg), Mohammad Abu Jaja (60 kg), Obada Al-Kasbeh (65 kg), Ziyad Eshaish (70 kg), Mohammad Al-Hussein (75 kg), and Hussein Eshaish (80 kg). Supporting the athletes is a technical staff led by head coach Dagoberto, with the assistance of coaches Alex and Jihad Abu Al-Khair, team administrator Mahmoud Al-Shwarbah, and team doctor Dr. Haitham Bahr.

The national squad has intensified its preparations over recent weeks, which included a training camp in Spain. This camp was focused on refining technique, conditioning, and tactical readiness ahead of the global competition.

This year's championship in Liverpool will feature more than 550 competitors from over 65 countries, highlighting its status as one of the key events on the international boxing calendar. Jordan enters the tournament with high hopes, particularly for Mohammad Abu Jaja, who made history in the previous edition by securing a bronze medal, marking a milestone for Jordanian boxing.
