Putrajaya: Cambodia and Thailand have reached an agreement on a ceasefire after engaging in peace talks held in the Malaysian city of Putrajaya, as announced by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. The ceasefire agreement is set to take effect from midnight tonight.
According to Jordan News Agency, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim revealed that Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Acting Thai Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai demonstrated their readiness and commitment to an immediate and unconditional ceasefire. This development marks a significant step towards de-escalating tensions and restoring peace and security in the region.
Ibrahim expressed his gratitude towards the leaders of Cambodia and Thailand for their participation and role during the peace talks. The meeting witnessed the presence of US Ambassador to Malaysia Edgar Kagan and Chinese Ambassador Ouyang Yujing. The United States co-organized the talks, while China participated as an observer.
