Amman: Chairman of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), Captain Haitham Misto, announced that the commission is actively assessing risks to civil aviation and is closely monitoring ongoing developments after Jordan's airspace was reopened earlier today.
According to Jordan News Agency, Misto emphasized that CARC will make decisions regarding air traffic based on the latest developments and their potential impact on civil aviation, with a focus on ensuring passenger safety. The commission will provide airlines with essential information to keep passengers and stakeholders informed about the latest air traffic data.
CARC had previously declared the reopening of Jordan's airspace at 7:30 a.m., following a temporary closure on Friday due to potential risks associated with the ongoing regional escalation. Misto highlighted that the decision to close the airspace was in line with international civil aviation safety agreements, including the Chicago Convention on Civil Aviation Rules and Safety of Air Navigation.
Misto reiterated that ensuring the safety of the airspace and passengers remains CARC's primary concern, and any decisions made are part of its precautionary measures to address potential risks.
