Amman: Chief Justice Abdul Hafiz Rabtah on Monday warned against the danger of extremist ideology and fanaticism, stressing adherence to the values of moderation and harmony based on the Islamic principles of tolerance and moderation propagated by the Sharia and preached by the Prophet Mohammad, peace and blessings be upon him.

According to Jordan News Agency, in a lecture that was part of the 46th Scientific Session to Explain the Contents of the Amman Message, organized by the King Abdullah II Institute for the preparation, rehabilitation, and training of preachers, Rabtah highlighted key initiatives launched by His Majesty King Abdullah II. These initiatives aim to promote moderation and balance and include the Amman Message, "A Common Word", and the World Interfaith Harmony Week.

He noted that these royal initiatives embody significant scientific and intellectual content, reflecting the deep and enlightened Hashemite thought. They aim to consolidate a culture of dialogue and mutual understanding, emphasizing that moderation is a core element of the Islamic nation's civilizational identity and one of its cognitive and cultural pillars.

The Chief Justice also pointed out the pivotal role played by Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, in laying the foundations of moderation and balance. He stressed that Jordan strives to spread a culture of openness and constructive dialogue among followers of various faiths worldwide and to counter manifestations of extremism and fanaticism with enlightened thought and a sound approach based on Islam's message of tolerance.
