Cochlear Implant Initiative for Palestinian Children Enters Second Phase in Amman

Amman: Al-Istiqlal Hospital, the implementing partner of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief), recently launched the second phase of the cochlear implant initiative for Palestinian children in Amman, with a grant from the center. This phase witnessed 80 successful cochlear implant surgeries carried out by a team of specialized doctors using the latest medical devices and technologies, supported by a qualified medical and nursing staff.

According to Jordan News Agency, Aqeel bin Jumaan Al-Ghamdi, Assistant Supervisor General for Planning and Development at KSRelief, emphasized that the project offers children the opportunity to regain their hearing and integrate into society and education. He highlighted the center's mission to assist those in need and strengthen partnerships, such as the one with Al-Istiqlal Hospital, to ensure the success of these humanitarian initiatives.

Ahmad Al-Ahmad, Director General of Al-Istiqlal Hospital, described the second phase of the initiative as a model of medical and humanitarian cooperation. He praised the Saudi volunteer medical team and the comprehensive medical environment provided by the hospital for performing surgeries and facilitating subsequent rehabilitation programs.

The project aims to inspire hope among hearing-impaired Palestinian children and represents a significant collaboration between Jordan and Saudi Arabia in advancing medical and humanitarian efforts.
