Karak: Minister of Government Communication Mohammad Momani stated that Jordan's political, economic, and administrative modernisation projects embody the state's vision for its second centenary. He emphasized that these projects reflect a comprehensive national reform and modernisation process led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, grounded in partnership, dialogue, and openness to all segments of society.
According to Jordan News Agency, Momani spoke during a dialogue session in Karak organised by the Balqi News website. He underscored the importance of direct communication with Jordanians, following His Majesty's recent visit to Karak. The session included former Minister of Government Communication Muhannad Mubaideen, Secretary-General of the Ministry Zaid Nawaisah, and several media professionals, intellectuals, and local dignitaries.
Momani emphasized that the Hashemite approach to communication establishes mutual trust between leadership and people, forming the foundation of the relationship between the state and society. He highlighted political modernisation as a key pillar of national reform, aiming to build a programme-based, institutionalised party system that aligns with Jordanians' aspirations and addresses their challenges. The 2024 elections marked a milestone, applying new election and political parties laws, with 41 out of 138 parliamentary seats allocated for political parties, indicating a gradual shift toward programme-based parliamentary governments.
He announced that the government will soon initiate a broad national dialogue on the Local Administration Law, essential for the next stage of democratic development. Strengthening local governance through this dialogue aims to enhance service delivery with administrative efficiency and fiscal discipline.
On the economic front, Momani reiterated the government's commitment to the Economic Modernisation Vision 2023-2033, a national roadmap for balanced and sustainable development. He announced the upcoming launch of the second executive programme (2026-2029) under royal patronage, which will include numerous initiatives across eight key growth sectors.
Regarding development efforts in Karak, Momani mentioned several projects presented during the Cabinet's first field visit to the governorate about a year ago. He highlighted the Karak Cable Car Project, initiated under royal directives to stimulate tourism growth and job creation, alongside ongoing infrastructure and road development initiatives and the operation of the Unified Government Services Centre.
Momani noted the King Hussein Bin Abdullah II Industrial City attracted 16 new investment projects following government incentives, supporting job creation and local industry. He concluded by emphasizing Karak's active citizen participation and awareness, noting that modernisation projects are advancing in an integrated manner towards building a modern, strong state with capable institutions and empowered citizens, guided by a clear royal vision of continuous and evolving reform.
Momani affirmed the government's commitment to maintaining open communication with all governorates through direct meetings and dialogue, aligning with His Majesty's directives to engage Jordanians in shaping national priorities and development policies.
