Conference Explores Insights to Enhance Jordan’s Higher Education Sector

Amman: The three-day conference, themed "From Vision to Implementation," concluded dialogues aimed at boosting the performance of Jordan's higher education sector.

According to Jordan News Agency, the event was launched by Senate President Faisal Fayez and organized by the Upper Chamber's Public Services Committees, alongside nine other joint senatorial panels. The closing session, moderated by Chairman of the Senate Public Services Committee, Dr. Mustafa Hamarneh, featured recommendations and discussed future steps.

In his speech, Dr. Hamarneh emphasized the collaborative effort in the field, highlighting the importance of bridging the knowledge gap in higher education. He outlined the need for a clear roadmap and effective monitoring and assessment mechanisms to contribute to formulating implementable policies.

Dr. Hamarneh noted the conference made several important recommendations to serve the Kingdom's higher education sector. These steps aim to develop a legislative framework for enhanced inter-university cooperation and direct scientific research towards national priorities, prioritizing funding for projects with national goals.

Additionally, the event advised that scientific research should provide effective solutions to social issues, promote innovation and economic development, support institutional research cooperation, and develop mechanisms to monitor and assess research-driven outcomes.

On developing the Kingdom's educational process, Dr. Hamarneh remarked that education is an essential part of Jordan's modernization process and a pivotal tool for building capacity and advancing the higher education and scientific research sector.
