Amman: Municipality on Wednesday announced the start of construction of the National Center for Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Genetics, which will serve the governorates of the Northern Region.

According to Jordan News Agency, the center is being built in the Sareeh area near the Fakhri Ajlouni Mosque. The four-story facility will occupy a 10-dunam site and is projected to cost JD5 million. Construction commenced this week, with completion expected in 2027.

The municipality emphasized that the center will alleviate the travel burden for residents in the Northern Region while reducing pressure on the main facility in the capital. The center is set to offer integrated services, including specialized clinics for ophthalmology, cardiology, and neurology, and will provide comprehensive treatment for diabetes patients.

The municipality also highlighted the project as a significant addition to the health sector in the Northern Region and praised the efforts of all supporting entities.
