Crisis Management Center Warns Against Panic Buying and Home Fuel Storage

Amman: The National Center for Security and Crisis Management on Wednesday urged the public to avoid panic buying, assuring of a stable availability of basic food items in local markets and national strategic reserves that are enough to meet the Kingdom's needs for extended periods.

According to Jordan News Agency, panic buying is unjustified, given the abundance of goods and the continuity of supply chains, the center said in a press release, noting that supply and demand balance ensures easy access to food for citizens, and strengthens local market stability.

Storing petroleum products in homes is dangerous as these are highly flammable and it threatens lives and property, it cautioned. Storing fuel in unauthorized locations threatens public safety, it said, urging people to heed preventive measures to ensure their safety and the safety of those around them.
