Amman: His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Regent, visited the Civil Status and Passports Department, emphasizing the necessity to complete the digital automation of services. The Crown Prince urged the expansion of public awareness campaigns to ensure all citizens are informed about the services provided through the Sanad application, specifically those offered by the Civil Status and Passports Department, and to educate citizens on how to use and access these services online.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Crown Prince received a briefing from Director General of the Civil Status and Passports Department Ghaith Al Tayeb on the department's services and projects related to digital transformation and e-connectivity. Efforts are being made to expand the provision of e-services, which aim to streamline procedures for citizens and improve their experience.

Al Tayeb explained that the department currently offers 25 online services, which represent 81 percent of its transactions. The proportion of transactions completed online rose significantly from 3.8 percent in 2024 to 24.6 percent in 2026.

During his visit, the Crown Prince emphasized the need to expedite the processing of applications submitted in person and to ensure inclusive access that supports the diverse needs of citizens. His Royal Highness was accompanied by Interior Minister Mazen Farraya, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami Smeirat, and Director of the Office of the Crown Prince Zaid Baqain.
