Crown Prince Supports Jordan’s World Cup Debut Against Austria

Amman: His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II attended Jordan's opening match against Austria at the FIFA World Cup 2026, supporting the national team in its debut at the global tournament.

According to Jordan News Agency, joining the Crown Prince at the match were Her Royal Highness Princess Rajwa Al Hussein, His Royal Highness Prince Hashem bin Abdullah II, Her Royal Highness Princess Salma bint Abdullah II, and His Royal Highness Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, President of the Jordan Football Association and the West Asian Football Federation, along with other members of the royal family.

Jordan lost the Group J match to Austria but delivered a spirited performance, displaying disciplined defensive and attacking play that earned praise from observers. The national team maintained its tactical organization across both halves, marking its first-ever FIFA World Cup match following its qualification for the 2026 tournament.

Jordan is set to return to action on June 23, facing Algeria in the second round of Group J, with kickoff scheduled for 6:00 a.m. Jordan time.
