Amman:His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II is actively working to attract major global companies to Jordan, aiming to establish cooperative channels that will enhance the Kingdom's standing as a regional hub for services, technology, and innovation. Haitham Al-Rawajbeh, Representative of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Sector at the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the significance of these efforts.
According to Jordan News Agency, Al-Rawajbeh highlighted the Crown Prince's recent meetings with Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi and Hamza Al-Sarhan, Founder and CEO of OpsHaven Technologies, as crucial for developing partnerships with leading global companies. These meetings are seen as an opportunity to leverage their expertise and technological capabilities to advance Jordan's economic sectors.
Discussions with Uber focused on expanding its services in Jordan and coordinating through the "Jordan Source" initiative. This collaboration aims to enhance services related to tourism, transportation, and digital services, thereby creating new opportunities for Jordanian professionals and companies.
Al-Rawajbeh pointed out that Jordan possesses several factors conducive to attracting global technology companies, including a robust development of local ICT companies, digital infrastructure, and a skilled workforce capable of thriving in emerging technology fields. These elements provide a solid foundation for developing new partnerships and attracting investment.
He also stressed the importance of cooperation in technology, artificial intelligence, and intellectual property rights, given the rapid developments in these areas. Strengthening the legislative and technological environment and protecting intellectual property are deemed essential for attracting investment in the digital economy.
Partnerships with global companies specializing in artificial intelligence could facilitate knowledge exchange, local technological solution development, and growth for Jordanian startups, linking them to international markets and networks.
