Washington, Oil prices rose during Friday trading amid a dollar decline against most major currencies, continuing its gains despite the jump in US crude stocks last week.
According to the Washington Post, the Energy Information Administration revealed on Thursday that oil stocks in America increased by 19 million barrels to 439.6 million barrels. Analysts expected them to decrease by about two million barrels.
US Nymex crude futures for February delivery increased by 1.4 per cent to $78.4 a barrel, while Brent crude futures for March delivery rose by 1.7 per cent to $84.07 a barrel.
