Cruise Ship “Aroya” Arrives at Aqaba Port, Bringing Over 3,500 Tourists

Aqaba: The cruise ship "Aroya" has docked at the Aqaba Port, bringing approximately 3,513 tourists, predominantly Saudi nationals, along with its 1,437 crew members.

According to Jordan News Agency, Hamza Haj Hassan, the Commissioner for Economic Development and Tourism at the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), remarked that this visit is part of a series of scheduled visits by the ship to Aqaba. This underscores the port city's significance as a crucial regional hub and a sought-after destination for cruise tourism.

Haj Hassan further explained that within ASEZA's 2024-2028 strategic plan, efforts are being made to enhance the tourist experience in the city. This includes improving the city's readiness and developing logistical services to accommodate additional luxury liners. The plan aims to offer travel programs that showcase the variety of Aqaba's tourist offerings.

Additionally, ASEZA has developed a program to facilitate trips for the new arrivals from Aqaba to renowned archaeological sites such as Petra and Wadi Rum.
