Mafraq: The Director General of the Civil Status and Passport Department (CSPD), Ghaith Tayeb, has announced that the department has issued 280,000 digital certificates through the "Sanad" government application and its e-services platform since its launch.
According to Jordan News Agency, during his inspection of the main Mafraq and Salihiya and Subha districts' civil status offices, Tayeb stated that the digital certificate project is a significant outcome of the CSPD's digital transformation strategy. He added that this process has contributed to streamlining procedures, reducing congestion, and improving the quality of e-services. Tayeb also mentioned that the increasing demand for digital services indicates citizens' confidence in the e-transformation system.
The department is currently working on developing additional e-services, preparing for a gradual transition to the "Integrated Digital Department" model for the complete electronic completion of transactions. Part of this strategic policy includes the launch of the e-passport project.
Tayeb highlighted that the Mafraq Civil Status Department provides various offices to serve citizens across the governorate's districts and northern desert regions. Since the beginning of this year, over 101,335 documents have been processed, including 11,423 passports, 10,792 family registers, and 39,002 vital records certificates. Furthermore, more than 20,404 smart ID cards have been issued, alongside the archiving of 43,389 passport files in Mafraq, containing 1,595,193 documents.
Field visits to the department's offices aim to assess employee performance and the smoothness of procedures related to document issuance, in accordance with the laws and regulations governing the CSPD's work. These visits also provide an opportunity to gauge citizen satisfaction with current services and identify field challenges, which would impact service quality and the overall performance of the offices.
Tayeb called for an analysis of key issues identified in the mystery shopper report for Mafraq Civil Status offices and the development of an action plan to address these observations. The process to tackle feedback issues involves training employees, enhancing workplaces, and developing administrative procedures.
During his tour, Tayeb met with the Governor of Mafraq, Dr. Firas Abu Ghanam, and emphasized the importance of ongoing coordination and enhancing integration among Jordan's public departments in the governorate. Both sides agreed that this vision aligns with government directives aimed at facilitating services for citizens and improving the public service environment, ultimately saving citizens time and effort.
