Culture Ministry Initiates Hmoud School Museum Project in Karak

Karak: Minister of Culture Mustafa Rawashdeh on Saturday launched the first phase of the Hmoud School Museum project in the village of Hmoud in Karak, southern Jordan, marking a cultural and documentation initiative aimed at preserving the educational and national memory of Karak governorate and commemorating its educational history over the decades.

According to Jordan News Agency, the launch of the project acknowledges the school's significant historical role, as Hmoud School stands as one of the earliest educational institutions established in the governorate after Karak Secondary School. Founded in 1922, it has served as a center of learning and a significant contributor to building Jordanian generations and shaping cultural and social awareness, witnessing the state's development and scientific progress.

Minister Rawashdeh highlighted that the museum project underscores a commitment to preserving the national narrative and valuing the knowledge legacy provided by the school. It stands as an enlightenment center that contributed to graduating national competencies, influencing various fields of life. He emphasized the importance of documenting this memory to ensure it remains an inspiring reference for future generations, reflecting the depth of Jordan's cultural and educational foundations.
