Dialogues Underway to Debate New Local Administration Law-Minister

Amman: Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdel Moneim Odat, emphasized the crucial role of youth as "partners" in Jordan's ongoing efforts to build and modernize state institutions across its three tracks. He highlighted the substantial influence and effectiveness of youth within the nation's political parties, acknowledging their significant contributions to shaping Jordan's future.

According to Jordan News Agency, Odat stated that Jordan has "successfully" navigated internal and external challenges to construct its own democratic model, maintaining security and stability under its wise leadership, which understands regional and international dynamics. During a meeting with young members of the Azm (Resolve) Party, Odat described youth as the "key" axis of the Kingdom's political modernization project. He noted that the legislative and political environment in Jordan guarantees youth involvement in political life, enabling them to actively engage in public affairs.

In response to the Letter of Designation and its policy statement, Odat mentioned the government's commitment to conduct a "comprehensive" study on the Local Administration Law. He announced that a series of consultations and dialogues will be held in the upcoming phase, involving various parties. These discussions aim to endorse a regulation achieving the "highest" levels of national consensus, thereby enhancing the role of municipalities as civil institutions responsible for development and service across the nation.
