Amman: Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami Smeirat and UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) Rania Al-Mashat discussed cooperation on digital transformation, artificial intelligence, government digital services, and capacity building on Wednesday.
According to Jordan News Agency, Smeirat reviewed Jordan's efforts to accelerate digital transformation and develop the digital economy. He also highlighted opportunities to draw on ESCWA's technical expertise in implementing national priorities and the Economic Modernization Vision, particularly its digital transformation indicators and assessment tools.
Al-Mashat, in turn, affirmed ESCWA's readiness to continue providing technical assistance, capacity-building support, and knowledge exchange in areas of mutual interest. Additionally, the two sides discussed potential joint initiatives involving data, artificial intelligence, and digital services to improve government efficiency and public service delivery.
