Amman: Border Guard units within the Eastern Military Zone foiled a sophisticated, early Tuesday morning trafficking attempt, intercepting a significant shipment of illicit narcotics launched via electronically controlled cargo balloons. Military surveillance systems detected the low-flying aerial targets crossing the frontier within the zone's designated area of responsibility. Forward-deployed units engaged the targets, successfully downing the craft and securing the contraband payloads inside Jordanian territory.
According to Jordan News Agency, the interdiction was executed via a coordinated joint operation involving frontline Border Guard formations, state security agencies, and the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND). All seized narcotics and operational hardware have been transferred to competent authorities for forensic processing and legal action.
